Treason is, in fact, defined in the Constitution. But I can see how you might prefer to ignore that fact.

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

US Constitution, Article III, Section 3

Note the word "only". It is in there to keep people like you from tossing the word about in reference to anything you might find undesirable. The Founders were well aware of the sorts of mischief that proceed under cover of patriotism. As the following clauses attest. You might want to read it sometime, it's an interesting document.
