War Without Representation
President Trump made war on Iran without asking our representatives and senators in Congress to vote on it.
That’s governing without representation.
We have to pay taxes which will be used by Trump to pay for his war. But our elected representatives and senators did not vote on it.
That’s taxation without representation.
If federal taxpayers have to pay for Trump’s war, then we have a constitutional right to vote on whether or not we want his war.
We also have the right to vote on whether or not we want to be taxed to pay for Trump’s war.
I don’t want my federal income tax revenues used to pay for Trump’s War on Iran.
Trump’s war on Iran is not unlike the circumstances surrounding British Parliament and King George III, when they passed the Stamp Act.
American colonialists were not consulted or represented when England’s ruling class passed the Stamp Act.
The king wanted to use Stamp Act tax revenues to pay for his French and Indian Wars.
That didn’t end well for English royalty, either.
